““Light Through the Trees” is about light pushing through layers of color and texture. The painting began with rich reds and patterned surfaces, but over time the brighter area in the center started to feel like light breaking through in the distance. I wanted the piece to hold both density and openness, where the eye can move through the surface and discover moments of glow and space within the abstraction.
