This piece started with my love of pours, shapes, and movement. I put the image right in the center, knowing it was probably a bad idea, but I couldn’t help myself. The whole painting became a fight against that centered image, trying to break it apart and let the surface breathe again through the pours and shifting forms. That tension between control and freedom is really what drove the piece, and honestly, it was fun to let the painting argue back with me.
