Lesley Turner, 'Homesickness', 2018, 75"h x 50"w x 5"d. Cotton handkerchiefs are stitched together to form a curtain. Handkerchiefs were used when one was physically ill as well as when one was emotionally traumatized by grief. They persist as a signal of public mourning.
