About the artist

Anton Kirchmair

German

b. 1943

Anton Kirchmair is an artist whose work invites reflection on form, material, memory, nature and presence. His artistic language is sparse but charged — using minimal materials to explore weighty themes of existence, memory and environment. His choice of fragile, lightweight mediums and his rural locus of production emphasize a contemplative, grounded practice.
