Salvador Banda (b. 1996, Guanajuato, Mexico) is a Mexican visual artist based between Querétaro and Mexico City. Working primarily through painting, his practice explores the urban landscape as a space shaped by memory, territory, and cultural identity. Through his observations of architecture, everyday environments, and the transformations of contemporary cities, Banda reflects on the ways in which place contributes to individual and collective understandings of Mexican identity.
His practice has expanded through international artistic residencies and exchanges, including a residency at the Nordic Watercolour Museum in Sweden. These experiences have allowed Banda to approach landscape from different geographical and cultural perspectives, establishing dialogues between his immediate surroundings and broader ideas of belonging, displacement, and territory.
