Held in Flight explores transformation not as leaving one truth behind, but as learning to hold more than one way of seeing. Inspired by the image of the relative and the absolute as wings sustaining a single flight, the butterfly becomes a symbol of balance within becoming—between outward appearance and deeper understanding, what changes and what connects.
Set against the enduring form of a bison skull, the butterfly invites the viewer to hold ending and emergence together. Neither erases the other. The piece asks what becomes possible when we see beyond an ending without denying it.
