"Dum Spiro" is Latin for "While I breathe," a phrase often accompanied by "Spero"—"I hope." I titled my work While I Breathe, (I Hope) to convey the idea that the first part is spoken aloud, while the rest is a quiet whisper within the heart—an unspoken truth when the body is too weary to complete the thought.
