Rooted in my love of gardening and the plants that surround me, this piece grew from my fascination with the shapes, textures, and quiet personality of leaves. I’m continually drawn to the way plants change, stretch toward the light, and develop their own imperfections over time.
Using layered texture, earthy neutrals, muted greens, blue-greys, and warm terracotta, I wanted to create a botanical piece that feels both familiar and slightly imagined. The weathered surfaces and expressive marks reflect the natural beauty I see in the garden, imperfect, resilient, and always evolving.
For me, this painting is ultimately about growth: the kind we witness in nature and the kind we experience within ourselves.
