Created from deconstructed denim jeans, the Here to There series offers an upbeat sense of play in imaginary spaces. Each module’s creation is inspired by the variety of texture and color inherent in the clothing from which it emerges, and modules can be arranged multiple ways to create different effects.

Similarly, the collage Durable Goods (below) creates a sense of rhythm and motion out of old friends.

Denim is a universal material in our culture and the designs and patterns I’ve used have familiar forms that tap into that comfortable universality. Thus, as with most works, interpretation of these collages varies according to the eye (and memories) of the beholder.
