Apocalyptic Embarrassment of the Baby AI is a series of three collages all composed of extra show announcements from the Summer 2025 exhibit. When I began I did not know how many I would make or how I would make them. I simply began gluing and allowed the forms to take shape. Once completed I thought they resembled computer generated work with the repetition of patterns. Since I had been asked to speak about AI to close out the Summer exhibit, I had AI on my mind. In general, I believe that AI can and will do what it does and I am not expecting any negative impact on my body of work artistically from AI. Therefore, the titles are poking fun at AI because a human artist made this artwork that looks to imitate computers rather than the other way around. Most interestingly, these collages were not made with any computing in mind whatsoever; the titles came after looking at the finished collages.
