The journey to create this collaborative quilt began in January 2022, inspired by Harriet Tubman's courageous passages to freedom. Quilters from across the community each created a quilt block representing one of the stops along the Underground Railroad. Once completed, the individual blocks were brought together into a single quilt, symbolizing the many hands, hearts, and stories united by a common purpose. The finished quilt was proudly presented to the Harriet Tubman Museum and Education Center, where it serves as a tribute to Ms. Tubman's extraordinary legacy, the power of collaboration, and the enduring pursuit of freedom and hope.
