While making this piece I did not know at that time it would be the last quilt my Mother saw me put together. She passed while it was being made. It took a minute to finish the quilting and binding, but I did. I can still remember some of the conversations we had during this time and that I woulAs I created this quilt, I had no idea it would be the last one my mother would see me make. She passed away while I was working on it. It took me some time before I could bring myself to finish the stitching and binding, but I eventually did. As I assembled each piece in the quiet evenings, I often found myself remembering our conversations and feeling her presence beside me. Every stitch became a tribute to those moments we shared. Composed of just under 500 individually stitched pieces, this artwork is not only a labor of love but also a lasting memory of my mother and the time we shared together.
