This lino cut was inspired by the tree in front of my house growing up. My parents had a long and happy marriage together. This tree reminds me of the joys of marriage and challenges. As this tree grew, it blocked the front windows of the house, instead of taking down the tree, they trimmed the branches, allowing the tree to continue to grow, but not to interfere with the view. This is important for a life and partnership together. As time goes on, we need to continue to work through the obstacles continuing to have a clear view.
