Teddy Bears on Speakers is a surreal take on real life personal experience. It highlights the use of hyper childish elements to counteract what would otherwise be an experience that belongs in adulthood, when specific adult life happenings "go wrong" due to inaccurate perspectives of life acquired during infancy.

Three patched stuffed toys, teddy bear like looking creatures, are positioned on top of two speakers. The first creature is standing alone on the speaker positioned to the right, wearing and idle expression in its face, while holding the arm of the second, which is standing on the speaker on the left. This second character is in a two-fold interaction with the third one: both of them puke a white substance, while the second assists the third in getting to the top of the device. The scene is crowded with an assortment of elements inspired by my studio, the place where I created most of my artwork, at that time: the speakers are overly decorated with stickers, symbolism to the need for discrete communication, everything positioned against a window, behind which a surreal landscape can be observed.

There is some deep metaphorical elaboration to this painting. The idea that I wanted to convey was one of secret desperation, the overthinking associated to an eroding process of closure. Shameful inner turmoil brought about by the realisation of how difficult it was for me to cut myself out of a situation that was causing much harm to my integrity at many different levels.
