Artist Statement:
My aim was to create a design of an ascending structure with clearly separated colored blocks in a visually striking and crisp geometrical pattern. The twill structure in the white blocks in the middle section is ascending towards the red square in the upper right corner, naturally guiding the viewer's eye upward. The red, a color often linked to danger, serves as the peak of this ascent—symbolizing a culmination of power that carries both intensity and a sense of potential threat.

Technique:
Lampas Weave structure on 13 shafts with a red square added in the clasped-weft technique. Warp consists of white, black, brown, and grey stripes. Weft is white cotton. Lampas structure features plain weave ground cloth and 3-shaft twill in the pattern cloth.
