Across the surface, scratched and incised marks emerge and disappear, resembling fragments of an ancient written language. Some marks suggest symbols, letters, or primitive drawings, while others feel like cracks and geological fissures. The distinction between writing and erosion becomes deliberately uncertain.

The painting suggests that the rock itself is holding a memory—a message left behind by people who are no longer present. Rather than offering a language that can be translated, the marks invite the viewer to wonder what was being communicated and whether something of that original meaning still survives.

There is a strong sense of archaeology, memory, mystery, and the persistence of human expression.
