Raymond Eastwood was a landscape painter who taught painting at the University of Kansas. He spent his early career as an artist as a theatrical scenic artist and billboard painter in New York City, NY. Eastwood studied at Yale University School of Fine Arts and the Art Students League of New York until he spent the remainder of his career as a professor and chairman of the University of Kansas School of Fine Arts. He was awarded the status of Governor's Artist by Kansas Governor John Carlin in 1982. In addition to the Art Students League, Eastwood was a member of the Allied Artists of America and the Scarab Architectural Fraternity.
