Interwoven circles and sweeping bands of color suggest traces that remain after the original stimulus has disappeared. Warm and cool tones overlap and compete for attention, blurring the boundary between what is seen and what is remembered by the eye. Light persists here not as illumination, but as an imprint on perception.
