Albert was born in Peoria, Illinois on October 16, 1938, to the late Harry Charles Vesely and Elva Lindau Vesely. He graduated from Limestone High School in 1956, and attended Bradley University where he played football and wrestled, and received his BA in Fine Arts in 1961. He later attended the University of Iowa where he received his Masters in Fine Arts in 1966. He went on to the University of Georgia where he was an art instructor and worked on his PhD in art education. In 1966, Albert married Linda Foster of Newport News, Virginia. Albert and Linda worked side by side as Deans of Continuing Education at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, until 1993. Upon retirement, Albert and Linda moved to Spruce Pine and opened an art and antique gallery, which they operated for the past 19 years. Albert also taught many art classes in the community and at Wildacres in Little Switzerland, NC. Albert was also an accomplished artist. His drawings and paintings were in exhibitions and private collections throughout the country, including the Audubon Watercolor Society, New York, and the Tiffany in New York.
