'The Following' is my reaction to the world of big business, whose relentless quest for profits has mankind on the edge of a precipice. To me, goldfish are symbolic of lives spent in blissful ignorance- not worried about the past, and certainly not thinking about the future. Here, the fishbowl heads of the businessmen represent the latter but also symbolise the general population who subconsciously consume whatever is fed to them, both literally and figuratively.
