Inspired by the landscape surrounding Ury, this painting balances estate architecture and woodland mass against expansive planes of turquoise and ultramarine. A golden house glows at the edge of a darkened treeline, counterpointed by clustered cottages that appear to hover within shifting colour fields.

The composition is structured in horizontal bands — sky, land, water — yet disrupted by painterly gestures and translucent overlays. Collage fragments introduce subtle references to lived experience, grounding the scene in the present rather than nostalgia.

Colour drives the emotional register: cool blues create depth and calm, while sudden passages of orange and magenta inject vitality. The result is not a literal portrait of place but an exploration of belonging — how architecture anchors us within a changing landscape.
