These paintings are meditations on the flow of land and light — not topographical descriptions but remembered sensations. The river becomes a unifying motif, a band of blue threading through the layered geometry of field and dwelling. Each composition grows through intuitive layering — painted, collaged, and stencilled surfaces that evoke the shifting moods of weather and season.
The familiar white houses act as visual chords: recurring notes within a complex composition where colour carries the emotion, and pattern the rhythm.
In this first variation, the composition feels introspective. Deep greens and violets dominate, anchored by the dark woodland band and a pale, luminous sky. The small cluster of white cottages glows like a remembered refrain, suspended in a dreamlike stillness. The mood is contemplative — dusk on the river, memory surfacing through colour.
