Ta’Tanka honors the symbiotic relationship between the Lakota Nation and the North American Plains Bison.
Carved & notched symbolism in work pays tribute to the indigenous culture that honored the TATANKA, aka bison. The bison cutout and the rainbow tribal patterns honor the Navajo-Hopi Prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow. The carved word (power) represents the perseverance of the bison when the US government used whatever means to slaughter massive herds of bison to devastate Native American Tribes.
