This painting happened organically from a local art celebration surrounding one piece of art by Georgia O'Keeffe - Two Calla Lilies on Pink, 1928. My main focus was painting a kimono jacket fabric with 6 Calla Lilies as my main entry. This 3 calla piece was the "practice" for the kimono and soon it became too good to leave as a practice piece.
It is painted with Jacquard Red silk dyes on 16mm habotai silk, steamed to set, then varnished on to a high quality canvas. Framed in a black wood floater frame.
