Glacier Stream II draws inspiration from Antarctica’s Larsen C Ice Shelf, exploring glacial flow, fracture, and calving. It also references the ancient Glacial Lake Missoula floods that helped shape the landscape of the Columbia River Gorge, connecting distant ice with the river landscape that informs my practice. Within Intersections, the painting brings together geologic time and ongoing environmental change. Layers of wax and oil translate these immense forces into a tactile surface, reflecting how water and ice continually redraw the terrain through which we navigate.
