This deeply intimate work finds a subtle miracle hidden in the natural world: a perfect impression of a heart formed from dry, autumnal grasses. Titled "The Quiet Heart," the image captures the delicate sanctuary of memory, a theme central to the artist's work.
The composition suggests a moment of gentle departure—the spirit, having rested within this natural nest, has just taken flight. What remains is a slight, warm impression—the feeling of protection, love, and a cherished history. It is a visual prayer for the safety and warmth of home, reminding us that even after a memory fades, the shape of the love it contained remains imprinted upon the landscape.
The hand-applied cold wax medium gives the woven grasses a tactile, archival presence, transforming this ephemeral discovery into an enduring token of natural beauty and emotional resonance.
Note on Medium: This artwork is an archival pigment print finished with a hand-applied cold wax medium, which acts as a protective layer and allows the texture and quality of the finished surface to be viewed without glass.
