"Within the Blue Light" captures the quiet mystery of an owl emerging from the layered colors of evening. Inspired by a peaceful moment near sunset, the painting reflects that brief in-between time when daylight begins to fade, the sky turns blue, and the natural world seems to grow still.

The owl is rendered with warm, earthy feathers and glowing amber eyes, creating a striking contrast against the cooler blues surrounding him. Layers of expressive color, texture, abstract marks, and glimpses of light give the background a sense of movement while allowing the owl to remain the quiet focus of the piece.

More than a portrait of an owl, "Within the Blue Light" is about that feeling of being present in nature at just the right moment—watching, listening, and waiting for the call of something wild nearby.
