Created with a loose, experimental approach, this colorful butterfly emerges from expressive layers of oil paint and cold wax, with scraped areas, bold marks, and textured passages adding depth and movement throughout the piece. Rather than focusing on precise detail, Flutterby celebrates the freedom of letting color, shape, and texture develop along the way.

Painted on Ampersand Gessobord, this one-of-a-kind piece was created using palette knives and a variety of mark-making techniques, resulting in a contemporary butterfly painting filled with personality and visual interest.
