I made this during a lenten meditation on II Corinthians 5:19 of what Jesus did for us on the cross. All three Persons of the Trinity were involved. God the Father was in His Son reconciling us to Him, the Holy Spirit drawing us towards His Son who was at work willingly taking the penalty of our sins and dying as our substitute. I used cinnomen sticks for the cross as it represents the fragrant offering of the Son of God, cinnomen which is naturally torn and tattered representing Jesus' torn broken body. The fire represents the holy wrath of God poured out which Jesus endured for us on the cross. The red rays represent the blood of Jesus poured out for me and you, the green rays symbolize His life given for us and the green blast represents newness of eternal life God offers us at the cross.
