This large woodcut is an homage to the city of Gloucester and its fishing history. Not all, but many of the notable icons of Gloucester are present today. The design features the City Hall, Fisherman's Wharf, Rocky Neck Marine Railway, abandoned fishing vessels, Beacon Marine Basin, and the historic Birdcage House. In the center is the research vessel Regina Maris on the ways. A symbolic ship's wheel haloes the Regina Maris, and phantom ships are sailing among the clouds.
