"Let's Play Pool"
Debbie Nye
This painting stopped me immediately.
The energy is unmistakable — a dog on dog launching through the water after that bright yellow ball, bubbles rising, light breaking across the sur-face. You can feel the rush, the sun, the joy.
What I love most is the movement.
Nothing is static. The water, the fur, the light, even the expression on the dogs' faces - all of it is alive. Debbie has captured a simple, fleeting moment of pure play and made it last.
It is original, full of spirit, and rooted in a home in the water. This is the piece that made me stop the long est.

Pure joy has a way of making a splash. Let’s Play Pool captures that wonderfully reckless moment when nothing matters except the chase—the flying ears, the outstretched paw, and one irresistible yellow ball. Loose brushwork, splashing water, and bright color keep the scene full of movement, humor, and the uncomplicated happiness of play.
