Meadowlark on a fence post, oil on canvas. This is an oil painting depicting a **Western Meadowlark** perched atop a weathered wooden fence post, its beak open as if mid-song. The bird displays its characteristic vibrant yellow breast with a distinctive black V-shaped marking, along with streaked brown-and-white wings and back. Surrounding the base of the post are clusters of bright yellow wildflowers, likely black-eyed Susans or similar prairie blooms, set against a warm golden-brown background that evokes an open meadow or grassland setting. The painting has a realistic, naturalistic style with rich, warm tones that complement the bird's striking plumage.
