This work was done as a study for a promotional poster for a dinosaur exhibit at the Witte Museum in San Antonio. While another of Dan's paintings were used in the final poster, the original painting shown here was in many ways a much better work in it's own right and subsequent poster size prints remain an always favorite with children.
