What pulled me into this scene were the shapes and colours—how the lines of the old sheds played off the shoreline, and how everything just seemed to settle naturally into place. The reds and greys of the buildings, the soft blues of the water, the muted greens in the land—they all speak to each other in that easy way nature and working places often do.
I love the way the straight edges of the structures meet the softer curves of the rocks and coastline. There’s a balance here that doesn’t feel arranged—it just belongs. It’s that mix of manmade and natural, holding steady through time, that keeps bringing me back to paint spots like this.
