GETTING CHISELED

BRONZE

24 x 16 x 8 in

SCULPTURE OF A SURREAL FIGURE CHISELING HIS OBESE SELF AWAY. The artwork is a contemporary sculpture featuring a stylized human form with a shiny, metallic blue upper body and a bronze-like lower body. The figure stands with a strong, grounded posture, holding two tools: a hammer in the right hand and a chisel in the left hand, suggesting the act of sculpting or crafting. The contrast between the smooth, reflective blue surface of the upper torso and the rough, textured bronze lower part creates a striking visual dynamic, emphasizing the transformation or creation process inherent in the piece. The sculpture conveys themes of labor, creativity, and the relationship between the artist and their material.
