About the artist

Brendan McCullough

Brendan McCullough was born and raised in Oregon, and his connection to the wilderness began at an early age. At five years old, sitting with his father beside a campfire in the Diamond Peak Wilderness, he listened to coyotes call across the lake as stars filled the sky. That night sparked a lasting sense of adventure and wonder. In grade school, he discovered drawing and carried a sketchpad everywhere—on hikes, backpacking trips, and family outings. Nature quickly became his favorite subject, from observing squirrels and birds to capturing quiet forest scenes. As he grew, that early love of sketching evolved into painting, deepening my appreciation for both wild places and creative expression. Each artwork is a chance to expand my horizons and share the beauty he encounters outdoors. Still living in Oregon, he spends much of his time hiking, backpacking, and skiing, photographing his journeys and transforming them into paintings that celebrate the landscapes and wildlife he cherishes.
