"Contentment" captures a quiet, fleeting moment as a solitary cow grazes peacefully in the cool hush of a late summer evening. Bathed in the hazy, golden last rays of sunlight, the surrounding pasture breathes serenity while soft, atmospheric edges evoke a sense of timeless calm. This intimate, small-scale piece celebrates the renewed beauty found in everyday farm life. The muted tones, diffused light, and tender observation of detail invite viewers to pause, reflect, and experience the gentle tranquility of the rural landscape.

About Rural Canadian Artist Crystal Beshara

BIOGRAPHY:

Crystal Beshara is an international award winning contemporary realist painter living in Ontario, Canada.

She is represented by BALLARDS FINE ART GALLERY in Wyoming and WALL SPACE GALLERY in Ottawa, Canada

Inspired by her rural roots growing up on a small hobby farm in Eastern Ontario, her ability to capture the anatomy and spirit of her subject matter highlights her reverence for rural life. A self-taught realist, she spent her childhood observing and drawing the world around her. Crystal moves easily between the mediums of watercolour, gouache and oil focusing on realism while juxtaposed with expressive, gestural brushstrokes. Her paintings weave together whimsical allegory while touching on the very real shifts in environment and the precarious disappearing and ever changing agricultural landscape.

After receiving her BFA in studio in 1997, Crystal went on to obtain a diploma in Botanical Illustration from the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA, UK). She has exhibited and won international acclaim for her artwork and has exhibited alongside some of North America’s greatest Wildlife painters such as Robert Bateman, James Coe, Rod Lawrence, John-Seerey Lester, Greg Beecham, Kathy Ellem and Theresa Elliot. Crystal’s oils and watercolours have been featured in American Art Collector, Pleinaire Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, Canadian Cowboy Magazine, Canadian Cattleman and International Artist Magazine .

She is an associate member of The American Watercolour Society, member with distinction of American Women Artists and an elected member of Woman Artists of The West, Artists Who Teach, American Watercolor Society, Elected Fellow Ottawa Watercolour Society and The International Guild of Realism.
