At the center of the composition, a horse surges forward with raw, muscular energy, its form rendered in layered soy ink and gestural graphite — earthy ochres and burnt umbers dissolving into grey and white, as if the animal is simultaneously emerging from and returning to the earth. 22" x 18" image size. Paper size 30" x 22" soy ink and graphite on paper.
