I combine acrylic, watercolors, and multi-media collage to create unique and visually captivating pieces. Drawing inspiration from water-related features providing a rich source of subject matter, as water can be portrayed in various forms and settings.
Moving to Coronado from El Paso, TX., in 1970 I have been able to witness the changes in Coronado over the years and feel a sense of responsibility to capture its small-town history through my art. In a sense preserving the essence of its small town charm and providing a visual record for future generations. Art can serve as a window into the past, I hope to showcase the unique character and heritage of Coronado. In a way, contributing to the community's collective memory. I enjoy painting iconic local homes and the historic Hotel del Coronado.
When not painting in my home studio, I can be found walking our chocolate lab, Cooper. Enjoying the great weather with my husband, Hector, hanging out with my 3 daughters, surfing and a bit of pickle ball.
