“When I paint I am in a deep state of awareness, I am in another world, another dimension. I am guided from an invisible force. My mind and body are totally relaxed. Coming from that guided invisible force my creativity flows like a rushing river reaching her goal toward a calming sea. Some paintings come instantly, some take a few hours to a few days and some take a few months depending on when I receive the inspiration of what the painting tells me to do. When the painting is finished I have a wonderful feeling of bliss, an amazing beautiful silence within me and then an exciting desire to share it with the world.”
Over 55 years as a Master of Yoga, Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Meditation and a Behavioral Therapist, Artist Jean Pierre Marques continues to demonstrate the power of human energy through his teachings and paintings. The French-born artist has been drawn to color and the beauty of nature since he was a child working with different mediums. Jean Pierre’s philosophies, private coaching, teaching and retreats over the past half century have touched tens of thousands of people’s lives around the world.
Jean Pierre describes his art as Meditative Art and is inspired by music, nature, sounds and silent meditation. The vibrations of the colors in the artist paintings invite more than a visual experience; they awaken the senses. From the turquoise blues to the bright yellow or red, to the lush green to orange, the paintings evoke spirituality, freedom and beauty. He is a member of Coronado Arts Association, San Diego Art Mart Assn and Spanish Village Art Center. His works are shown and sold locally, nationally and internationally.
