About the artist

Marvin Bjurlin

b. 1944

Marvin Bjurlin began teaching ceramucs at SUNY Fredonia in 1968. He has since retired from teaching, but still makes pottery at his home studio. For most of his career, Bjurlin has made function pottery, but his recent work consists of wood-fired sculptures based on marine life and fish.
