About the artist

Drew Smith

d. 2008

Drew Smith was a master glassblower for 37 years, receiving degrees from both Ashland and Kent State Universities. Smith taught glassblowing at the Columbus College of Art and Design and ran Smith Glasshouse studios in Akron (OH), Logan (OH), and at New Heights Gallery in Tampa, FL. He continued his artistic practice in his San Diego and San Marcos (CA) studios until just weeks before his passing in 2008. His glass works have been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan. His work is featured in the collections of various museums, including Corning and the Smithsonian.
