Chris returned again and again to this stretch of shoreline — the wind-sculpted pines clinging to granite, their branches all swept in the same direction by years of weather off the bay. Here, the rock itself seems to ripple like water, echoed in the still reflection below. It’s a quiet study of the tension between what’s rugged and what’s calm. This work is unsigned; title, attribution, and date were assigned by the manager of the Chris James Cooper Artist Estate based on subject matter, materials, and stylistic analysis.
