Algonquin Park, especially in autumn, was the place Chris and his wife returned to most — days-long canoe trips into the interior, camping at quiet sites away from the crowds, sketching and photographing scenes that would become paintings for years afterward. “We had so much fun in those parks,” Chris said, not long before he passed — and this painting, from around 2005, still holds that colour and that feeling. Oil on canvas, c. 2005. A letter of authenticity from the estate is provided with this piece.
