Being a process-based painter whose primary focus is abstract expressionism, Kristina wanted the families at Brent’s Place to experience the freedom of painting intuitively. She encouraged the participants to paint using gesture, mark-making, music and movement. Using the abstract art and painted papers from these workshops, Kristina then created this larger, mixed-media work on a 5’ by 8’ wood panel, designing a grid of hearts. Each heart comes from a piece of art created by kids and families at Brent’s Place.
