About the artist

Namdar Moshiri

Namdar was born in Tehran and emigrated to the U.S. in the early 90s. His work with Cedars began in 1993 with the animal care and culinary programs. Namdar began to explore art making recently, though he has always been passionate about film and has both family and friends who work in the industry. He turns this storytelling, cinematic influence into striking ink drawings that pull from his memories of people and places and from his constant research, adding captions in both English and Farsi text.
