Looking at the St Paul’s, what do you see?
Russet reds, golden yellow against the night sky. Texture permeates the piece. The water a rich display of blues, yellows and burnt umber, the rippling water is alove with colour yet deep and dark.
A couple walk by, focused on their destination then suddenly the view captures their attention. Are they heading out or heading home? You decide. Is it you with the love of your life. Are you heading out for a romantic evening, or heading home after the perfect night.
St Paul’s is Central to the image, the brilliant white of the page shines through, the rest of the structure hinted at, as it becomes lost in the night’s shroud.
Other lights hint at buildings, rapid inky splodges suggest walls and edges. You want to turn up the focus so you can make out the details…

The river ripples along alive with colour as it reflects the street lights. The indigo sky full of colour, as speckled bands merge and morph into each other. Here and there are dark splodges of heavy colour. Unforgiving darkness in a colourful heaven.
