Maynard’s Bar – Pacific Beach Classic A beloved dive in the heart of Pacific Beach, Maynard’s Bar served up cold drinks and local charm from the 1950s through the 1970s. Known for its laid-back vibe, jukebox tunes, and surf crowd regulars, it captured the spirit of beachside San Diego before the coastal boom transformed the neighborhood. Ray Carpenter’s Maynards Bar pops with color, chrome, and counterculture—two bikes, a wild mural, and a whole lot of attitude along the Pacific coast.
