As long as I can rememberI have always been
involved with the arts of one kind or another.
As a child, I loved making mud pies of various
shapes and sizes and glueing colored bits of paper or
glitter into anything I could find.
Looking back I think that must have been the
beginning of my love for creating.
I grew up in South Africa and after High School I left
South Africa and attended "Italia Conti", a theatrical
school in London where I pursued my career in dance
and musicals.
It was during my time in the theater that I started
experimenting with wire and beads and making
jewelry. I also found time to take some courses in
Fashion Design specializing in wedding and evening
wear.
I met my husband Doc, (US Air Force Fighter Pilot) a
few years later and gave up my dancing/theatrical
career and turned my focus to Painting, Fashion and
Interior Design. This led to starting a whole new
business in Art Galleries, Interior Design and raising
our two children Caron and Barry.
My Son, Barry now runs the Gallery business,
"Broadway Galleries" in Northern Virginia
with help from my very talented artist daughter, Caron.
22 years ago my husband, Doc and I retired to the
home we built down here in the Northern Neck giving
me more time to travel and continue my love for
creating one-of-a-kind jewelry, wall hangings, painting
and gardening.
