My father designed and built boats and I was often enlisted to help him. As a kid, I was small enough to fit under the floorboards to hold wrenches or find dropped screws.
On trips to Georgian Bay in Ontario, we'd boat out to the Red Rock Islands. They were made of sparkly pink quartz, and my family would swim in the cold, clear water.
